This page compares how a claimant can challenge a decision that reduces or refuses a research and development (R&D) tax claim in the five countries covered on this site. For each country it sets out the administrative step inside the tax authority, the independent tribunal or court that can hear the dispute, and the first time limit a claimant meets. Time limits are strict everywhere and vary with the type of decision, so the notes and the linked country pages give the detail. Each cell cites the same source as the matching country page. The page describes the rules only and makes no recommendation.

This table simplifies each country's rules for comparison. See the country pages for detail and sources. Last reviewed pending.
