1Our aim

ResearchCreditIntegrity.org is published by Swanson Reed. We aim for the site and the documents we publish on it to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

This applies to:

  • every page on the site
  • the PDF versions of our white papers, briefs, proposals and the model fee disclosure statement

2What we have built in

  • Structure. Each page has one main heading and a logical heading order, with landmarks and a skip link to the main content.
  • Keyboard use. Menus, the contents list, citation previews and question and answer sections can all be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Contrast. Text and interface colors are chosen to meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios.
  • Images. Images that carry meaning have text alternatives.
  • Motion. The animation on the homepage plays once and does not loop. If your device is set to reduce motion, it is switched off.
  • Small screens. Pages reflow to fit small screens, and wide tables scroll within the page.
  • PDFs. Our PDFs are built to be tagged, with a title, reading order and structure that screen readers can use, to the PDF/UA standard for accessible PDF documents. Each PDF is checked before it is published.

3How we test

During the build of this site we tested the page templates in three ways:

  • automated checks with the axe accessibility testing tool, at desktop and mobile widths
  • manual keyboard checks, including the skip link, citation previews, the contents list, question and answer sections and the mobile menu
  • checks that motion is switched off when reduced motion is requested

Our PDF generation templates and published PDFs are checked against the PDF/UA standard using the veraPDF validator prior to publication.

4Known limitations

No known limitations have been recorded yet.

5Reporting a problem

If you find any part of the site or a PDF hard to use, or you need a document in a different format, email hello@researchcreditintegrity.org. Please tell us the address of the page or the title of the document, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and any assistive technology you were using.

We will use your report to fix the problem and to improve the site.
