Who pays for this site
The Research Credit Integrity Alliance is operated and funded by SR Tax Services LLC, a for-profit company that provides fixed-fee R&D tax advisory services under the Swanson Reed brand. SR Tax Services LLC meets the costs of the research, this website and the initiative's advocacy work. Swanson Reed has a direct commercial interest in the policy this site argues for, which is set out in full in our conflicts of interest statement.
The initiative does not ask the public for donations and does not sell its research.
Information about the initiative's budget is not published on this site.
Who decides the positions
SR Tax Services LLC, as operator, decides the positions published on this site. Swanson Reed's opinions are always labeled as its position: recommendations and arguments appear in boxes labeled "Our position" or sections headed as Swanson Reed's view, and every page in the Policy section carries a note that its proposals are Swanson Reed's position.
The positions are limited in scope:
- Congress should prohibit contingent fees in federal research credit engagements under Section 41.
- The initiative takes no position on state programs.
- It makes no recommendations for countries other than the United States.
Positions and publications are reviewed and approved on behalf of SR Tax Services LLC (Swanson Reed) by Adam Rogers, in accordance with our editorial standards.
Membership and supporters
Today the initiative is one firm, Swanson Reed. It has no members, partners or coalition, and no other organization has a say in its positions.
Other advisers, accountants or businesses may support the legislative position. Supporters will be listed only with their written consent, and a listing means support for the position and nothing more. Supporters do not fund the initiative or decide its positions.
No coordination on pricing
Swanson Reed does not coordinate pricing with other firms and will not do so. Support for the legislative position involves no agreement about fees, prices or clients.
Advocacy and registration
The initiative publishes public policy research and model statutory text for the consideration of lawmakers and files written comments in response to public consultations on federal legislation and proposed rules. SR Tax Services LLC is not a registered federal lobbying organization and does not contact Congress, officials or regulators on behalf of visitors to this site.
